Obituary of Ethel Helena Matranga

 

 

 

Matranga, Ethel Helena (nee: Braun), age 87, of Miramar, Florida, passed away on June 12, 2019.   Ethel was born in Ossining, NY to Sarah Agnes Johnson and Leslie Braun.  Ethel attended Ossining High School and graduated in 1949.  Ethel worked as a waitress for 13 years at the “Half Moon Restaurant” and later at the Holiday Inn in Hollywood Florida for 22 years.  Ethel finished her career at “Wild Flowers the Florist” in Hollywood, Florida.

 

Ethel’s favorite hobby was Bingo.  She would attend Bingo up to three times a week.  Ethel also loved to travel to most anywhere.  Ethel loved to cook family meals and everyone was always welcome.  Ethel enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

 

Beloved wife of the late George Matranga, Sr.  Devoted mother of Linda Allbritton and her husband Don, JoAnn Matranga,  George Matranga, Jr. and his wife Ilkay,  Lois Matranga-Kauz and her husband David,  Michael Matranga, Sr.  and his wife Eileen, and Scott Matranga.    Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Tammy, Jay, Peter, Tracy, Candace, Mikey Jr., Ashley, Anthony, Christopher, Scotty Jr., Adored great-grandmother of 19 and 2 Great - Great grandchildren.   Dear sister of Gladys Farrell, Leslie Braun, Jr. and late brothers George and John Johnson and late sister Florence Braun.

 

 

The family will receive their friends on Thursday 4-8 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”.  All are asked to Assemble Friday in the Garden of Memories at 11:30 am for services.
