Obituary of Hong Suh Park
Park, Hong Suh, age 80, of Whitestone, NY, died peacefully on July 12, 2015 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Born in Seoul, Korea, on September 1, 1934, he emigrated to the U.S. in 1975. He graduated from Yang Jung Middle and High School and then from Yonsei University. After graduating from Yonsei, he taught history at Yang Jung for 15 years and also served as Dean of Students. In the U.S. he operated a retail business and retired in 1988. Always active, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and fitness. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife Sun Joon Rhee and three children Hye Sun Helen Park, Sungmin Ryan Park, and Chansuk Steven Park. Ryan's family includes wife Suzanne Chung Park and children Elisse Yujung, Sarah Soyeon, and Haley Jungyeon. Steven's family includes wife Margaret Chu Park and children Katherine Saeyeon, Matthew Junwoo, and Jack Jungwoo.
The wake and memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on Monday, July 13 at 8:00 p.m. at the Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee. (opposite the Public Library". All guests are invited to share a meal with the family at Poong Lim Restaurant in Fort Lee. The following day on July 14, 10:00 a.m., a short service will take place at Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home which will be followed by the burial at the George Washington Memorial Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
