Obituary of Anthony Michael Guidicissi

Anthony Michael Giudicissi, 88 1931-2020 Anthony Giudicissi, production planner, artist, sports enthusiast and loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27th. Son of Amelia, nee Parise, Giudicissi and Michael Giudicissi, Anthony (Tony) was born in Englewood, New Jersey and raised in Cliffside Park. He was the youngest of two children along with his brother Bonday Eugene who is deceased. As Tony grew up in Cliffside Park, as a teenager, he worked at the world famous Palisades Amusement Park and later graduated from Cliffside Park High School. He continued his education in New York City where he studied drafting. He met his future wife and lifelong partner, Dolores DeGioia at age 22. After marrying in 1955 they moved to Palisades Park where he would go on to raise his three children, Toni Marie Morra, Linda Mary Naylor and Michael Anthony Giudicissi. It was there that he joyfully served his community as a town councilman and where his love of sports led him to become an umpire on a local and county level. He was an avid Giants, Mets and Knicks fan. Tony worked for Delta Corrugated as a production planner and after retiring, started second and third careers as a travel agent and an installation supervisor for Nextel in the early days of mobile phones. Anthony’s love of travel would lead him to many beautiful destinations with his wife, friends, children and grandchildren. Aruba became his favorite place to land and was an annual event for the whole family. Anthony is survived by his wife, Dolores, his three children, Toni, Linda and Michael and his eight grandchildren, Joseph, Rachel, Lindsay, Matthew, Michael, Anthony (deceased) Mia and Samuel. His loving spirit and sense of humor will forever live on in the many lives he touched. Due to the current circumstances, cremation and inurnment services at Madonna Cemetery and Mausoleum will be private. In lieu of flowers, Tony’s family requests that donations be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with acknowledgments sent to mrsg246@optonline.net.
