Obituary of Doris Maria De Myer
Doris Maria DeMyer of Fort Lee, NJ passed peacefully while holding her son’s hand on Saturday November 28th at age 90 years. She was born in New York City and raised in Washington Heights. She is daughter of Catherine and George Bohler. She had two brothers Charles & George Jr. Bohler.
She was married and divorced with Fred DeMyer and had two sons Stephen and Joel DeMyer.
She is survived by her son Stephen DeMyer and daughter in law Vena DeMyer, Fred and Myrna DeMyer, nephew Ronny Bohler and wife Laurel Lee Bohler, niece and nephew Carol and Gary Bohler, brother George Jr. Bohler and family, Sidel Seidner, and nephews Scott and Bruce Seidner and their families, Jerry Davis and nephews Greg and Mark Davis and their families.
Doris was a successful model with the Ford agency, NYC in her youth and twenties and had many career opportunities but left them behind to raise a family.
She was a lovely, good mother, a caring daughter to her parents, and a good wife, helping her husband as he earned his college degree and start a successful business career. She was the cornerstone of her family supporting and sheltering her mother and sons growing up and in their times of need.
Later in life she had a small fashion store and was involved in Fort Lee voluntary senior, political, and church activities. She helped establish a thrift shop in Madonna Church in Fort Lee. She loved nature and enjoyed being together with friends and family. She could always be found at the Fort Lee Starbucks socalizing with her girlfriends enjoying an afternoon tea.
Doris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
