Obituary of Nicoletta Milo

Nicoletta (Nikki) Milo (nee: Martire) passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Sunrise of Tappan where she was a resident for 10 years. Prior to that Nikki lived in Fort Lee, NJ for 40 years. She is predeceased by her husband John(2006). She is survived by her daughter, Retired Fort Lee Police Lieutenant Camille Milo Gordy and her husband James, and her cherished granddaughter, Nicole Kleine. Born in Calabria, Italy, Nikki came to the United States in 1960. She worked as a seamstress in the Bronx. Everyday when she waited for the bus, she would see a handsome Police Officer walking his beat. He always smiled and said hello to her. They eventually dated and got married on June 22, 1963. In spite of the fact that he did not speak Italian and she spoke no English. They made it work and were married for 43 years. Prior to moving into Sunrise, Nikki was a cafeteria worker at the Fort Lee High School for over 30 years. She loved for people to eat, so her portions were always generous. Nikki was one of nine children. She is predeceased by her brothers Gino(Italy) and Alfredo(Missouri). She is survived by her sisters, Nina(Florida) and Nunziata(Italy) and her brothers Hugo(NY) Lennardo(Staten Island), Arturo(Nevada) and Aldo(California). The family will receive their friends on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main St., Fort Lee, NJ. There will be a Catholic mass held at the Main Madonna R.C. Church at 11am December 15, 2020. Entombment will be at the Fort Lee Mausoleum on Jones Rd., Fort Lee.
