Obituary of Emma Van Cott
Van Cott, Emma, nee:Aitken, currently of Englewood, formerly of Fort Lee, born in Hackensack NJ, on Sunday February 5, 2017. Emma was a woman before her time. She was passionate about politics and animals of all kinds. She worked on Wall Street in the computer room of Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Investments. She went to Nursing School and became a RN at the age of 55. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, eventually retiring. She loved her job and her patients. She loved clothes and shoes and had a good fashion eye. She was a member of Mended Hearts Chapter 40 and The Adler Aphasia Center and belonged to many animal organizations and other political and charitable groups. Emma leaves her partner of 40 years, Barbara Bory, three surviving children, Paul Van Cott, Mary Jo Beaulieu and Lorraine Van Cott and her dog Russel. John W. Van Cott, David Van Cott, and Regina Van Cott predeceased her. She had 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her brother, Harry Aitken also predeceased her. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Humane Society or the ASPCA or an animal organization of your choice. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday 4-8 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Thursday at 9:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in Holy Trinity R.C Church at 10:00 AM.
