Obituary of Marie J. Orrico

Orrico, Marie formerly of Leonia, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2017, at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare in Clifton Park, NY. Born in Jersey City on February 28, 1929, Marie was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Montelaro. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Anna Montelaro and brother Dominick "Sonny" Montelaro. She was also predeceased by her dear friend, Fred Hayo of Paramus. Marie was a resident of Leonia for 56 years and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Formerly, she was a secretary for two different law firms and later worked for NATCO. She was married to Dr. Frank Orrico until their divorce and assisted with his dental practice in Palisades Park. She also enjoyed playing golf at Hackensack Golf Club. In her later years Marie volunteered at the Religious Education Program at St. John which brought her immense joy. She was a passionate Frank Sinatra fan, owning all his records and having photos of Old Blue Eyes throughout her home. Marie was proud to be the godmother of 18 children, with whom she frequently communicated and took great pride in her role in their lives. Marie adored kids and was always the fun "aunt" to her cousins' children and to the Neuber children and grandchildren of Schenectady, NY. Marie leaves her sisters-in-law, Connie Cassiello and Dolores Sera, her nephews, Bob and Gary Cassiello, her many godchildren, cousins and her good friend Rosemarie Lamont. ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a Mass and celebration of Marie's life on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 470 Broad Ave., Leonia at 1:30 p.m. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend.
