Obituary of Thomas F. Cacciola

___________________________________________________________________

Cacciola, Thomas, F., age 93, of Englewood Cliffs, formerly of Brooklyn, passed peacefully on Thursday July 15, 2021. Born in Brooklyn to Natale and Marie Cacciola, he was a proud veteran of the Army who served in the Korean War (1950-1952) as a combat medic, as part of the 955 Field Artillery. He earned 4 Bronze Stars and the Korean Service Medal. A one hundred percent disabled veteran he was an active member of the DAV and helped countless veterans across the country obtain pensions and benefits. He was a talented musician who at 17 played in Carnegie Hall. His violin concerto, Ave Maria, brought people to tears. He was an accomplished chemist who worked in the private sector as well as numerous government agencies.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Josephine (nee: Demasi). Devoted father of Dr. Thomas A. Cacciola and his wife Maritza, Regina McGuinness and her husband Dan, and Diane Cacciola. Cherished Nonnu of Thomas (Karrah), Catherine, Angela, Andrew (Randi), Gracie, Vincenzo (Nichole), Cristina, Gino and Tommaso. Dear brother of the late Marjorie Martinez. We will miss his love, his complete unselfishness in caring for others, his wisdom and his unabashed patriotism for this country (and Sicily!). We are all better for having him in our lives. He blessed everyone he touched. Rest in peace dad you are forever in our hearts.
