Natalie Ellen Feehan, age 71, of Leonia, passed away from a brief non-covid related illness on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Natalie passed peacefully, surrounded by her three adoring children and loving husband. Natalie was born to Mary and Joseph Feehan in Jersey City, NJ, where she spent her career as an attorney. Natalie attended St. Bridget’s Grammar School, St. Aloysius Academy, and St. Peter’s College. At Rutgers Law School, she met her husband of 42 years, John J. Curley. Natalie began her career as an Assistant County Counsel for the Hudson County Counsel’s Office. Thereafter, she practiced real estate law with her husband at the law firm of John J. Curley, LLC. Natalie is survived by her son, John Curley; daughter, Jennifer Jenkins; son-in-law, Nelson Jenkins; daughter, Amanda Curley; son-in-law, Michael McQueeny; assumed-daughter, Sandra Garcia; son-in-law, George Garcia; her sister and brothers, JoAnn Tiedemann, Michael Feehan (Marie), Gregory Feehan (Veronica), Felix Feehan (Patricia), Joseph Feehan (Ruth), and the late Stephen Feehan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A devoted mother, Natalie raised her family in Leonia and was her children’s biggest supporter in their multitude of endeavors. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, for which she prepared months in advance by decorating the house and finding the perfect gift for each of her children and grandchildren. Natalie’s last seven years were enriched by embracing the role of Grandma to Eloise, Madeline, Cecilia and Gabriel—spoiling them with gifts, leading late-night Disney movie marathons, and lying on the floor to help them complete a small library’s worth of coloring books. The love and affection Natalie gave to and received from her children and grandchildren was her greatest accomplishment, an achievement that will long outlast her earthly life.
The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, January 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ (opposite the Fort Lee Library). The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Leonia, NJ. Natalie will be buried at Saint Catharine’s Cemetery in Sea Girt, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Toys for Tots (www.toysfortots.org), to honor Natalie’s favorite holiday, Christmas.
