Obituary of Seong Soo Hahn
Seong Soo Hahn (한성수) passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.
Our father was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a longtime Madonna Church parishioner and Bergen County resident. He is best captured by the chorus of his favorite Frank Sinatra song: I did it my way.
He was born in Seoul, Korea, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Sungkyunkwan University. He worked as a business executive for years at Samsung, CJ, and Paine Webber. He was also the President of his own firm, Woori Incorporated.
Our father showed his love through his actions. He gave his unyielding support to his wife, children, and extended family in the pursuit of education and opportunities. Despite many hardships, he overcame them with his intellect and persistence.
His loving family includes devoted wife Kyung Hei Hahn and son, Theodore Sangwoo Hahn of Englewood Cliffs, NJ; daughter, Dr. Josephine Wonsun Hahn, son-in-law, Steven Huang, and grandchild, Penelope Chaebi Huang of New York, NY; his siblings, Wang Soo Hahn, Kyung Soo Hahn, Young Soo Hahn, Yang Soo Hahn, Hyang Soo Hahn, and their families in Seoul, Korea; and the family dog, Korra Hahn.
We also remember in loving memory, his parents, Yong Hwan Hahn and Jeom Rye Song, and his sister, Eun Soo Hahn.
The family will be honoring his life in a private closed ceremony at the Madonna Church.
