Obituary of Edna H. Scavone

Edna Scavone, nee Fontanez, a resident of Leonia, NJ, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born May 24, 1931 to a large, loving family. Edna's early years were spent living and working in New York City. She met her future devoted husband, Randolph Scavone, while working for Olympic Radio and Television. Then, Edna became a keypunch operator for the Lerner Corporation. Edna and Randy married and she was a devoted mother to her three children, Anthony, Edna, and Nancy. She and her family settled in Leonia in 1969 and resided here for 53 years. Edna also began a 25 year employment career at Acme Supermarkets from which she retired in 1996. Edna had a passion for cooking and loved preparing delicious meals for her family, especially for holiday and birthday celebrations. Edna is predeceased by her devoted husband, Randolph. She is survived by their children, son Anthony; daughter Edna and her husband Rocco D'Angelo; daughter Nancy and her husband Joseph Macagne; and cherished grandchildren Joseph, Rocky, Robert, Julie, Matthew, and Melissa. Edna was adored by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She leaves her family with a lifetime of loving memories. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in St. John's R. C. Church at 10:00 AM.
