Obituary of George Nicholas Sekas

Sekas, George Nicholas, age 88, a longtime resident of Englewood Cliffs, NJ formerly of Fort Lee, NJ, passed peacefully on Monday June 27th.   Born in Lesvos, Greece he came to the United States in 1946 and was a proud veteran of the U.S.  Army.   He was a furrier by trade who was an owner and  partner of Sekas Brothers Furs, Inc.  of Manhattan.   He was a founding member of St. John The Theologian Greek Orthodox Cathedral.   A founding member Boy Scouts Troop 25 (Tenafly).  A member of AHEPA (Tenafly) , and a member of the Fur Manufacturing Association of NY.   

 

Beloved husband of 64 years to Eugenia (nee: Dallas).   Devoted father of Helen Sekas, Nicholas G. Sekas, Esq., and Katherine Gilbride.  Adored father-in-law of  Carolyn Sekas and Paul Gilbride.  Cherished “Papou” of  Lauren, Lee, George, Michael, Jean,  and Jonathon.  Dear brother of Cali Stamboulis, Gus Sekas, and the late Paul Sekas and May Vasilakos.

All are invited to assemble Friday, 7/1 at St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Tenafly,  NJ) at 10 am for funeral services.  Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
