Obituary of Steven Kochis

Kochis, Sr., Steven (Lumpy) age 72, of Edgewater, NJ on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Steven served his community as a Edgewater Police Officer for 25 years, as well as, the first 50 year active member for the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department.  As a Delegate for PBA Local 45, Steven passionately represented its membership.  He served on the Edgewater planning board, Honor Legion & was a respected Little League & Minor League  coach.  Steven devoted his life to various other civic endeavors which was a testament to his life long philosophy of helping others.  

 

Beloved husband of 51 years to Marie Kochis(Graff). Devoted father to Steven Kochis Jr. his wife Tabitha, Scott Kochis, Trevor Kochis & Shannone, Dennis Kochis his wife Jamie, Colette Stewart her husband Wilbur. Cherished grandfather to Cara, Nick, Bella, John, Kaylei, Amaya, Jack, Autumn, Alexa, Aleah, & Avery.  Loving Brother in law & Uncle to Gary Graff, Susan, Beth, Lisa, Mark Kopczynski, Joanie, Ryan Luke & Brandon.  Adored brother of Barbara, Candy, & Paul.  Predeceased by his father William Kochis, Mother Victoria Kochis, Sisters Linda and Tracy, along with his  brother Billy. Steven will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

 

Steven was often found on his porch doing the crossrword puzzle, loved golfing, corny jokes, attending grandkids / nephews sporting events, and  traveling with the love of his life Marie. Lumpy was a avid Giants, Penn State, Islanders and Yankees fan. His big personality will be missed tremendously.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday 4:00 P.M - 8:00 P.M at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral home 327 Main Street"opposite Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Wednesday at 9:30 A.M for the celebration of his funeral mass in Holy Rosary R.C Church at 10:00 A.M.  In lieu of flowers please donate to CTC Academy
