Obituary of James Chang
On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, James K. Chang, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 71.
Born in Taiwan on September 6, 1950, James received a BS degree in civil engineering from National Taiwan University and a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He married his wife Julia in 1979, and together they moved to Wayne, NJ raising two children Jennifer and Jonathan, later moving to Fort Lee in 2011. Just recently he became a grandfather to Alexandra in June 2022.
James was an entrepreneurial spirit. He pioneered COMWEB's "KnowledgeWEB" system and in 1996 founded Global Knowledge Exchange that has provided decades of education technology consulting and innovative multimedia classroom design for domestic and international education institutions.
James had a passion for Chinese calligraphy and was skilled in painting techniques, and was an avid ballroom dancer with his wife for the past 35 years.
The family will receive their friends and family on Saturday August 13, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00p at the Frank. A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home at 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please help donate to your selected charity in memory of James.
