Obituary of Yvonne "Penny" Wright

Yvonne “Penny” Wright, 84, of Fort Lee NJ, formerly of Spring Hill, FL and Warwick, NY was born and raised in Bronx, NY as an only child. She then moved to Closter, NJ, where she attended high school. Penny was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to all. She passed away peacefully at her residence under the care of Hospice and her caring nurses, Marie and Lydia. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Ret. Det. Sgt. Daniel Wright of the Fort Lee Police Department, her son, Daniel Wright Jr. of the 46 Pct. NYPD and her parents, Frank and Marion McGinty. She is survived by her devoted children, daughter, Danette Wright Forsythe, son-in-law, Paul Forsythe, son, Dean Wright, daughter, Deana Cuevas and son-in-law Jaime Cuevas. She was a cherished grandmother to Matthew Forsythe, his wife, Erica, Kaitlyn Forsythe, Dillon Forsythe, Remi Cuevas and great-grandmother to Reagan Forsythe with whom she shared a birthday. After overcoming Polio as a child, Penny dedicated her life to children’s causes and worked as a Director for the March of Dimes. She was an avid card player, adored the movies and Broadway shows, loved dining out and greatly enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World. She was legendary for hosting memorable parties and had a strong passion for reading. Penny was most proud of her roles as mother and homemaker. She was everything to her family. 

 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 15th from 3-5 and 7-9 at Frank Patti Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. Funeral services on Tuesday, August 16th at 9:30am held at the funeral home then, George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
