Obituary of Mary M. Marshall

Mary Marshall Obituary 8/21/22

Mary M. Marshall of Cliffside Park, age 75, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on August 21st, 2022. Born and raised in Jersey City, Mary was the second child of Joseph and Margaret Marshall (née Freeman).

After graduating St. Dominic's Academy, Mary earned an undergraduate degree from Jersey City State College and a master's degree from New York University. Mary worked for different employment agencies in New York City such as AGA before she found her true calling as an educator in her native Jersey City. As a teacher in the public school system throughout the 1990's and 2000's, Mary shaped many young minds and made lasting friendships.

Mary will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, trusted friend and confidant, animal lover, avid reader, and world traveler whose experiences made her a great raconteur among her family and friends. She leaves behind her loving daughter Amanda Marshall-Polimeni and son-in-law Daniele Polimeni, brothers Jerome and Joseph, sister-in-laws Lorraine and Geraldine, beloved nieces Dini and Lisa, nephews Jimmy, Jeffrey, and Joseph, and many dear friends with whom she stayed in touch throughout her life.

The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM and then from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home located at 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ, opposite the Fort Lee Library. A prayer service will begin at 8:00 PM.
