Obituary of Judith A. Spagnolo
Spagnolo, Judith A. (Nee: Maxwell) age 75 of Ridgefield Park formerly of Cliffside Park, passed on December 24, 2022, after battling Alzheimer’s disease for over three years. Born in Jersey City in August,1947, to Arthur Maxwell and Madeline (Naas) Maxwell. She attended Paterson State College where she earned a BA degree in 1969.
Judy was amazingly intelligent with sharp wit and breadth in spoken and written word. This talent along with her unfettered drive for perfection permeated everything she did. She was an amazing cook hosting holiday dinners with family and friends. She was a skilled artist with paint, pastels and most any other medium. For most of her life, she sold her work at juried art and craft shows across New Jersey. She counts former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissenger and several of the “daughters” from the Cosby Show among hundreds of others who enjoy her life-like pastel portraits of the canine members of their families. She loved Italian opera and nearly all things Italian even going so far as to learn the language.
Beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 53 years of Philip Spagnolo. Devoted mother to Matthew and his wife Melissa. Dear sister of late siblings Robert and Doris. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends on Saturday, January 7th from 2-5 p.m. at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee “Opposite the Fort Lee Library.” In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
