Obituary of James Caparosa
James Louis Caparosa, 68, passed away suddenly on January 22, 2023 with his loving wife Radmila Caparosa by his side. James was born September 21, 1954 and grew up in Ozone Park, NY. He was the loving son to the late Joseph and Francesca Caparosa. He was a graduate of John Adams High School and York College in NY. After graduating he had a very long and successful career in the hat industry.
He was blessed and forever thankful to have the gift of spending his final years with his wife Radmila Caparosa. They spent their time always surrounded by family & friends with great laughter, love, and a zest for life. They enjoyed traveling and simply sharing time together.
He was a beloved father to James (Amanda), Nicholas, and Jeremiah Caparosa. His time was spent supporting them and he could be found at the baseball field, basketball court, front row at a concert venue or simply side by side singing together. He leaves them with his everlasting love.
Besides being with his family and friends, he enjoyed following the NY Yankees and playing golf. His true passion in life, however, was always music. He played bass guitar, harmonica and was the lead singer in a few bands. Music filled his soul and brought him great joy. Later in life he was able to share the love with his son (Jeremiah) and two grandsons (James and Joey) Many memories were had of them playing the bongos and singing karaoke together.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Radmila Caparosa, his sons; James (Amanda), Nicholas and Jeremiah Caparosa. Grandchildren James Henry and Joseph Allen, who affectionately referred to him as “Popsy” Brothers; Joe (Elaine), John Caparosa, Sister; Fran Caparosa. His niece, nephews, cousins and countless friends will also remember him fondly.
“May your hands always be swift. May you have a strong foundation. When the winds of change shift, May your heart always be joyful. May your song always be sung. And may you stay, Forever young.” – Bob Dylan
