Obituary of Mildred B. Fleming
Fleming, Mildred “Millie”, age 84, of Englewood Cliffs. Born in Hoboken, Millie was a Teacher throughout the Union City School System.She taught in the Elementary school , Union Hill and Emerson High School over a 25 year period before retiring in 1994, Mille was a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Jersey City State, and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Education at St. Peter’s University. Mildred was well known throughout the Thoroughbred Breaders Association of New Jersey. She bred thoroughbred horses for almost 50 years and was the 2022 recipient of the Virgil “Buddy” Raines Award. She also served 2 terms as the president of the NJ Thoroughbred Breeders Association. She shared her passion for thoroughbreds with her husband and raced exclusively NJ bred horses.
Beloved wife of 51 years to Lawrence “Larry” Fleming. Devoted mother of Victoria D”Arrigo and Richard Bielfeld. Cherished grandmother of three.
A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday February 9th in St. Mathews RC. C. Church of Ridgefield at 11:30 am entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum.
