Obituary of Sarkis O. Paskalian

Leonia, NJ - With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Sarkis Paskalian on Wednesday evening, February 8th, 2023, after a brief illness surrounded by his beloved family.  Sarkis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Arlene, his sisters Hasmig Khatchikian from Canada, Sossi Kelegian from Armenia, Seta Kantardjian and husband Zareh from New Jersey, nephews and nieces Ara Kantardjian and wife Jennifer, Lena Terzian and husband Haig, Karen Khatchikian, Michael Khatchikian, Daniel Kelegian and wife Mary, grandnephews and grandnieces Lisa and husband Milad, Lara and husband Orlando, Daniel and wife Elyse, Alex and wife Stacey, Sacha and wife Tanya, Arshak, Christine, Andranik-Sarkis, and Roman.

Sarkis Paskalian was born in Beirut, Lebanon on September 10th, 1938 to two survivors of the Armenian Genocide, the late Hovhannes and Rose Paskalian.  He was a pillar in the Lebanese community, AGBU dance ensembles around the world, and a devout supporter of his country, Armenia.

A memorial service will be held at St. Leon Armenian Church, 12-61 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ on Saturday, February 11th, from 6pm-8pm with the church service at 7:30 pm. The service will be live streamed on St. Leon Church’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers donations be made to the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Arts Department.

May God rest the soul of Sarkis Paskalian in His eternal kingdom.
