Obituary of Doris J. Della Monica

Doris J. Della Monica, a 54-year resident of Horizon House in Fort Lee, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2023 at the age of 89.  She was born on October 5, 1933 in Amarillo, Texas and one of 13 loving children of John Lowrance and Mary (Hussey).  

Doris, known affectionately to her friends as “Dee Dee”, is predeceased by her late husband Joe Della Monica, and son Ty Della Monica and daughter-in-law Patricia (Panzarino) and is survived by her loving daughter Debbie Sena and son-in-law Bill,  son Joey and son-in-law Michael Hendricks, and son Jay and daughter-in-law Emily (DeNicolo). Her memory will also live on in her 8 beautiful grandchildren: TJ Della Monica and his wife Samantha, Ashley Johnston and her husband Andrew, Jonathan Della Monica and his wife Cara, Anthony Sena and his fiancé Justyna, and Avery, Joey and Remi Della Monica; as well as her 5 precious great grandchildren: Hailey, Mia, Luca and Jackson Della Monica and Olivia Johnston. 

Doris loved watching her NY Mets, reading countless romance novels, and shopping for just about anything and everything-particularly at Saks Fifth Avenue. She took pride in being fashionably dressed and lit up every room with such beauty, elegance and grace. Her loving heart, beautiful smile and classy style will be missed by so many who loved her.

Services and a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a future date.
