Obituary of Florence A Nersesian

Florence A Nersesian, a radiant spirit who graced this world with her presence, peacefully transitioned on Friday, June 16, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. As she embarks on her next journey, she takes solace in knowing she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Albert Nersesian, in the embrace of afterlife. Throughout their life together, they shared a profound love, exchanging heartfelt "I love you's" every day. Their bond was further strengthened by their shared passion for dancing to the melodies of Frank Sinatra. In her later years, Florence became affectionately known as "Grannie," a name that carried the warmth and tenderness of her soul.

Florence's journey began in West New York, N.J., on July 24, 1929, and led her through various places, including Englewood, Toms River, Fort Lee and Wyckoff, NJ, where she etched beautiful memories in the hearts of those she touched.

In her professional life, Florence dedicated herself to her father's dry-cleaning business, contributed her talents to Rueben H. Donnelly Corporation, and found fulfillment at Scholastic Magazines in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Her commitment and dedication were a shining example to all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Florence found joy in the simple pleasure’s life offered. Summers were filled with cherished moments vacationing along the Jersey shore, where she created lasting bonds with family and friends. During the winter months, she embarked on adventures in Highland Beach, Florida, seeking warmth and new experiences.

One of Florence's greatest joys was traveling from Tom's River to Fort Lee to cheer on her grandson's football, basketball, and baseball games for the Fort Lee Bridgemen. Her unwavering support and loving presence made her an integral part of the team's extended family.

Florence leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and strength, survived by her two devoted sons, Robert Nersesian and his wife, Suely, and Richard Nersesian and his wife, Rose. Her grandsons, Michael Nersesian and his wife, Alexis, and Mark Nersesian and his wife, Katie, carry her spirit forward, as do her great-grandchildren, Nina Sofia, Duke Albert, Mark Elbert, and Maeve Maria Nersesian. The bonds she forged with her family will forever remain unbreakable.

Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and honor Florence's extraordinary life at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, located at 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ, 07024, on Tuesday, June 20, from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM in St. Leon's Armenian Church, 12-61 Saddle River Rd, Fair Lawn. Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at Grove Church Cemetery in North Bergen.

In celebration of Florence's life, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to St. Leon's Armenian Church and St. Jude's Children Fund, organizations close to her heart. Let us remember Florence not only for the joy she brought to the world and the lasting impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her, but also for the eternal love she shared with her husband and the enchanting dances they shared.
