Obituary of Helen Chrysanthem

Helen Chrysanthem, 93, of Riverdale New York, passed away on August 6^th, 2023. Helen grew up in Washington Heights, New York, and was a graduate of George Washington High School. Helen worked as a secretary at Columbia University in New York City, she was a homemaker, and in addition worked as a teacher’s assistant at P.S. 189 in Manhattan. Helen was an adoring wife to her husband, Alexander Chrysanthem, loving mother to Alexandra and Nicholas, and a beloved grandmother to her six grandchildren. She was a lover of the sand and sea, and her favorite place to spend summers was at the beach.

She is survived by her children, Alexandra and Nicholas, grandchildren Maria, Victoria, Alex, Moscos, Nicole and Julia, her daughter in law, Tina Chrysanthem, and son-in-law Thomas Cavaliere.

The celebration of her funeral service will be held on, Thursday, August 10^th, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 10 Mill Road, New Rochelle, New York. Viewing will be from 10:30am-11:00am; service will be from 11:00am-12noon. Graveside prayer to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, New York.
