Obituary of Dr. Edmund A. Eyerman

Obituary for Dr. Edmund A. Eyerman Dr. Edmund A. Eyerman; father, husband, civic leader and healer extraordinaire passed away in the arms of his son and wife on December 7, 2015, at the age of 73. With hands guided by knowledge and a bed side manner abundant in wit, he served his patients diligently in his chiropractic practice for over forty years. Those that entered his door found solace in his presence and relief from his touch; never did a person leave his service without being improved in both mind and heart. Dr. Ed possessed a true gift for his work, which elevated him beyond a doctor, but a true compassionate healer. Eddie, a teacher himself, gave back to his alma mater by serving as a Trustee on the Ridgefield Board of Education for twenty five years, presiding as President for ten. He took great pride in the friends he made, the faculty he supported and the programs he fostered. Of his achievements, Eddie was instrumental in creating a specialized, award winning magnet school program to serve students with special needs and was a "chief architect" in bringing an abandoned music program back to the children of Ridgefield. Eddie was a charitable man, a helper, and devoted servant who impacted his community for the better yesterday, today and continuing into the future. Dianne, his wife of 44 years, was his partner in every venture and dream. Dianne was at his side for the tapestry of events that culminated in the wondrous life that they worked so hard to build and most thoroughly enjoyed. With her, Eddie had the distinct pleasure to leave this world knowing that he was truly loved. Eddie was a man of passion always celebrating the wonders of life, sharing laughter with his family and dearest friends. This was a quality he passed onto his children, who he adored and loved with all his heart. Fatherhood to him was never a responsibility but a vocation embraced. He instilled in his sons and daughter a fantastic sense of wonder of what life has to offer and encouraged them to always follow their dreams. A lifelong musician, Eddie imparted his love of music in his children by listening to and jamming with his kids. Yet, any description of his happiness would be amiss without including Disney World, the place he could relax in bliss while watching his children at play. Eddie knew true delight in the moments spent with his family, leaving adventures too numerous to list and memories too joyous to describe. To his children he was not only a father but the man that showed them the world. To say that Eddie is survived by his beloved family lessens the extent to which their lives will be the perpetual memorial to the gifts he bestowed. His beloved wife Dianne (nee Decker), their loving children Lee Eyerman Esq. of Boise, ID, Dr. Luke Eyerman with his wife Wendy Eyerman (nee Forshay) of Leonia, NJ, Brian Eyerman, Esq. with his wife Kara Eyerman, Esq. (nee Kaczynski) of Maywood, NJ, and Kelly Eyerman Morris with her husband Thomas Vincent Morris III of Saddle River, NJ and his dearest grandchildren, Alexandra, Anastasia, and Emily Eyerman and Thomas and John Edmund Morris remain grateful to a man that spared nothing to see them smile. His cherished siblings Melody Eyerman with her husband Joseph Fiscella, Priscilla Finster, and Scott Eyerman and his brother in law Richard Decker and sister in law’s Angela Decker and Kathy Decker join in the grief of losing someone so loving, kind and giving. He leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Eddie joins now his brother Gerald Eyerman and brother in law James Finster who predeceased him. Visitation will be held at the Frank Patti Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM to celebrate the love, generosity, and zest for life that he shared with us. Join us not in whispers, but in remembrance of a man who deserves to enter heaven with the words and sounds of those he touched and those who touched him.Visiting will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frank Patti Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 AM to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's RC Church, 555 Prospect Avenue, Ridgefield. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ. For condolences, directions, or information call (201) 944-0100 or www.frankpatti.com
