Obituary of Concetta Lofaro

With immense sadness, the family of Concetta Lofaro (nee Furci) of Cliffside Park, announces her peaceful passing on October 2, 2023 at the age of 85.

Concetta was born on March 16, 1938, in Bagnara, Calabria, Italy. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 with her husband Vincenzo. Concetta was known for her beautiful and generous heart, her vivacious personality, and her funny character. She was the life of the party, lit up every room she walked into, and was loved by all who knew her.

Concetta was best known for her mastery of baking, her talent in the kitchen was unparalleled. Her cookies were legendary and will be treasured for generations to come. Showering loved ones with her culinary delicacies and sweet treats while singing, dancing, and laughing uncontrollably, were among her happiest moments. She also found great joy in avidly cheering on her favorite soccer team, Juventus.

Concetta was a beloved wife of 56 years to her late husband, Vincenzo Lofaro. A devoted mother to Mariangela Lofaro Appice and her husband Frank, and Teresa Lofaro. A cherished Nonna to her adoring grandchildren, Gabriella, Francesca, and Martina Appice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno Furci and Teresa Settis, and her siblings, Antonino Furci, Vincenza Furci, Carmelo Furci, Maria Furci, Francesco Furci, Rosario Furci, Rosella Furci and her husband Vincenzo Carbone. 

She is also survived by her brother, Domenico Furci and his wife Santina Artuso, her sisters-in-law Concetta Calabro and Anna Lotito, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 9th, 2023, from 4-8 PM at the Frank A. Patti Funeral Home in Fort Lee, NJ. 

Concetta was a devout Catholic and worshiped at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Fairview, NJ. A funeral mass will be held here on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 at 10 AM. 

May her luminous spirit continue to guide us, and her memory be  immortalized in our hearts for all eternity.
