To Tony: , You were and always will be my favorite cousin. We spoke often, you were at my house just about every Sunday in Paramus, playing cards with a whole bunch of family. I loved the stories of you coming to America, taking a rowboat across the Adriatic Sea. Bozo sponsored you and a number of other cousins over the years, and you all ended up in Hoboken. You were a part of my extended family growing up and it formed me into who I am today. Enclosed is a picture of the funniest Tony story, when we went for a boat ride in Bozo’s boat, and Tony, the boss of the world, stood up on the deck to help steer the boat in, and when my father gunned the engine, he fell into the water.
You also stayed close when my parents moved to Florida, Emil, your brother, and you would always check in on them. When my father died, you called Frances every week, and I so much loved you for that.
When In college, my boyhood friend, Chuck and I backpacked around Europe and ended up in Sestrunj. WE stayed at my Uncle Ante’s house, and he served us one of his lambs. Then we had to go to My aunt Bozica, Tony’s mother’s house for another meal. We were already full but had to eat more and she kept saying “Jesti Bobby”!
To Zdanka- I am so so sorry, it is such a shock. Stay strong and if there is anything I can do for you please ask me. You are always welcome at our house.
To Ivan and Alexandria: I don’t know you, but I love you. I am so sorry and feel so bad we have not gotten to know you, especially since Alexandria, you are my God daughter. I always listened carefully to stories about you from your parents. I was happy that your parents moved to be closer to you. Now you really need to take care of your Mom.
I am currently in Utah visiting my daughter, and is impossible for me to be with you this week.
You all will always be in my heart. And I will try to live and love like my favorite Cousin Tony, lived his life. And the second picture is the last time I saw Tony before moving to Croatia and LA.
