Obituary of Stuart Slovak

Stuart Slovak, "Stu", age 60, lifelong resident of Ridgefield, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday February 18th, 2024. Stu was the Vice President of Sales for Shawnee Trucking of Clifton. A true fan of his children, he spent much of his time involved in their activities and coaching all of his children's sports teams.

Beloved husband and best friend of 24 years to Lorraine (nee Kivlehan). Devoted father of Elizabeth and Ryan Slovak. Dear brother of Steven Slovak and his wife Donna, Peter Slovak and his wife Jennifer. Cherished son of the late Bette O'Brien and late Frank Slovak Jr. Adored by his stepmother Lorretta Slovak. He was loved very much by the Hart family of Massachusetts (Jennifer, Chris and Tony). Beloved brother-in-law of Maureen & Peter Sutton, and Kevin Kivlehan and his fiancé Jodi. Adored uncle of Mia, Chloe, Cole, Joseph, Thomas and Matthew.

Great friend and admirable man to the entire community. He was looked upon with great respect by his family, work community, friends and Colonial crew. He empowered everything it means to be a hard working man and stand up guy. Most importantly Stu was a role model to all the kids he coached or anyone who needed advice. He never failed to make someone laugh or put a smile on their face. Stu loved spending summers at the fields and courses, and in the winters wanted nothing more than a little escape to Florida for some sun.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations, to remember Stu, to your favorite local youth athletic program.

The family will receive their friends on Friday 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Saturday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in St. Matthew's R C Church at 11:00 AM.
