Obituary of George Angelidis
George Angelidis, Age 61, of Montauk, N.Y., formerly of Fort Lee, N.J, passed away on February 17, 2024. He grew up in Fort Lee, N.J. and attended Fort Lee High School where he became a New Jersey state championship wrestler. He attended Bergen Community College with a degree in Computer Programming. He spent his career working as a programmer for the MTA, NYC until his retirement in 2022.
He was an avid surfer and fisherman, and had a love of diving and spearfishing. He was the consummate outdoorsman, hiking, swimming, running, and four-wheeling on the beach. He enjoyed traveling the country, especially the Florida Keys. Upon retirement, he spent the winters in Tarpon Springs, Florida with his family and friends. George had a heart of gold, was very generous, and would do anything for those he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Devoted son of Viola and the late Xenophon. Dear brother of James and Mary. Adored uncle of Xen, George, Christina, and Emily.
The family will receive their friends on Monday from 3-7 pm at the Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street Fort Lee, NJ. All are asked to assemble on Tuesday at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (Wyckoff) at 10 am for services,. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery Montauk, NY.
