Obituary of Ruth A. Paci

Paci, Ruth A., age 88, of Edgewater, on April 6, 2016. A career civil servant with the U.S State Department, United States Information Agency for 38 years. She was a Foreign Press Officer working both in New York City and Washington D.C. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University and a Master's Degree in Journalism from N.Y.U. She is survived by her sister Viola Conklin, her nephew James J. Conklin and his wife Martha and Barbara Conklin. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Theresa Paci, her sisters Dorothy Kazanjian, Muriel Paci, nephew Robert Conklin and brother-in-law's, James E. Conklin and Peter Kazanjian. She was an active parishioner of the Church of the Holy Rosary, Edgewater. She was a Board of Trustees member of the Edgewater Free Public Library, a member of the Edgewater Historical Society and the Bergen County Historical Society-Historic Preservation Board. An avid writer she wrote numerous articles and was a published author notably for" Down By the River & Under the Cliff", the history of Holy Rosary Church and "Dearest Friends" a collection of letters from Captain Augustus Wright, which he wrote to friends in Edgewater during the Civil War. She was responsible for attaining a military headstone from the U.S Government for his grave in the Edgewater Cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Friday 3-7 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave at Saturday 9:30 am for the celebration of her funeral mass in Holy Rosary R.C Church at 10 am.
