Obituary of James B. Van Orden
Van Orden, James Blakely age 83, of Leonia, on January 21, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Dolores H. Van Orden. Predeceased by his parents, Jean (nee; Blakely) and William Van Orden, his sister, Ida Mae and brother William James is survived by his son, William R. Trinka Jr. and his wife Bette, his cherished grandchildren Ruth M. Trinka and Renee & Michael Galatioto. James was a 1949 graduate of Paterson Central High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952. He served through 1954 and was a veteran of the Korean War. James served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1954 – 1960. He was a proud lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, Gooney Bird Detachment, New Milford. James was employed by Brooks Brothers, Paterson, NJ and then by Ford Motor Company at the Mahwah Assembly Plant. He later served as foreman for Slater/AG Manufacturing, Newark, NJ. After leaving he served as a custodian for the Bergen County Technical School System, Paramus, NJ, retiring in 2003. James enjoyed travel and anything related to the USMC, but the greatest joys were found when he was in the company of his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his name to The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 104, Dumfries, VA. 22025. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". Religious Service at 4:00 PM.
