Obituary of Mary Taus

Type Obit Here Mary Taus (nee Ottina) peacefully journeyed to heaven under the tender love and care of her loving family and caregivers of the Veterans' home in Paramus, N.J on September 4, 2016. She served as a member of the volunteer firefighters Ladies auxiliary for Fort Lee Engine co. 1. Mary served as a Madonna Church Rosary Society member and provided oversight of the Madonna Bingo Program. Mary was actively involved in the Italian-American society of UNICO. Mary was predeceased by her husband Louis Taus, a decorated Asian Pacific WWII veteran, and her sister Nancy Siracusa. Mary is survived by her brothers and their wives John and Arlene, Primo and Angela, and Dominic Ottina. She will be deeply missed by her children: Louis and Patricia Taus; John and Arlene Scollan; Joseph Taus and Dr. Andrew Uri; grandchildren: Drs. Melissa Scollan-Koliopoulos and John Koliopoulos; Cynthia Hofmann; Thomas Scollan and Jen Ryer; Emilie Taus; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Aidan, & Connor Koliopoulos; Abigail, Melissa, & Patrick Hofmann; TJ & Trey Scollan; and Dusty and Cassie Hofmann; Ellie Allen. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday 6-9 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in the Historic Church of the Madonna at 11 am.
