Obituary of Helen Springob
Springob, Helen Patricia nee: Jemison, age 79, of Leonia, on December 22, 2016. Beloved wife of Dr. H. Karl Springob. Devoted mother of Paul Henry, Imanta Springob and the late Christine Marie Nichols nee; Springob. Cherished grandmother of Kyle Maris and Laila Christine Springob. Loving daughter of the late Leroy Jemison and Leonie nee; Perrot. Dear sister of William, Lee and Twin Roy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Western College for Women, President of Government Assoc. Master’s Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Counselor, NJ Rehabilitation Commission. At retirement she was Senior Medical Case Manager with two professional certifications. ADP Integrated Medical & Services-QRS 1st Class Service Award and handled several 9-11 burn victims for Port Authority. Long history of volunteer activites with St. John’s R.C Church Choir, Leonia High School Home & School Association, CROP walks, Leonia Youth Guidance Council, County Parent Workshop Program, Property Owner’s Association, NJ Citizen Action, listed in National Human Service Registry-Medical & Vocational Rehabilitation and most long term as volunteer in various committee and other varied activities for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for which awarded number of plaques, the Breath of Life Award and an award for her length & extraordinary services over the years. Co-Author of professional article related to her career work. Long history of enjoyment and participation in music-member of school and church choirs, Masterworks Chorus and N.J Chorale Metropolitan Opera Guild. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”. The funeral will leave Wednesday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. John’s R. C. Church at 11:00 AM.
