Obituary of Elio E. Herrera

Herrera, Elio, age 88, of Miami FLA, formerly of Manhattan, Queens and Fort Lee, on Saturday December 24, 2016. Born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to the United States in May of 1956. He was a superintendent and worked in the engineering department at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City. His passions included baseball, reading and writing poetry. Beloved husband of the late Virginia. Devoted father of Elix "Lily" Cappadona, Virginia "Kiki" McKenna and the late Hernan Herrera. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Cassidy, Christian, and Robert. Adored great grandfather of Franklin. The family will receive their friends on Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Friday at 9:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in Madonna R.C. Church On The Hill at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's R.C Church 268 Wadsworth Avenue New York, NY 10033.
