Dear mom, mami, mama, mommy, querida madre,
I am missing you greatly, not by the day but rather by each second of the day. I can not imagine my days without you but recognize that I must learn to live my life without your physical presence, relying on your spirit to continue to guide me and our family from above. God sent an angel to us in the form of a mother, for that I am eternally grateful to God. I will miss the smallest of things, events and memories that only you and I shared. Going to the supermarket together, stopping to have pizza and chicken wings after one of your many doctor appointments, on our way home. Even though I knew it wasn't the best of food choices, I indulged you as a way to say, job well done mom, thanks for not giving up and continuing your battle against the many ailments that ravished your weak and frail body. I will miss our trips to the casino as part of your medical treatment, alongside the many pills you managed and took with such discipline on a daily basis.I will miss the joy on your face while you scratched a $2.00 bingo I would bring home for you. I will miss staring at you in awe as you read through your favorite mystery novel in English, the book had to be in English, you amazed over and over again. You were my greatest teacher, teaching me first and foremost about faith, through the unconditional love you gave all your children but especially to our special angel, Daniel. You taught me and my siblings to be best friends and be there for each other, especially when you're gone. You taught us to be kind, caring, compassionate people, and to select our friends wisely. You were and are still are our rock, our foundation, our role model, our advisor, our everything. You may have never attained material wealth, but those of us who God blessed with wisdom know that your wealth went beyond that of the universe and the material and that your six children were your six treasures, of which you were very proud of. We miss you mom tremendously but unselfishly release your spirit to God the creator of the love we feel for you, the creator of all that is good. Until we meet again, querida madre, te adoro.
