Obituary of Salvatore Ceccarelli

Ceccarelli, Salvatore, passed on to eternal life on March 26, 2017. Sal was born on the beautiful island of Procida, Italy off the coast of Naples 87 years ago to Maria (nee: Schiano De Nicola and Francesco Ceccarelli. Soon after enjoying his childhood and teen years on the blue scenic island he served in the Italian Navy aboard the Aviso Scorta ship during World War II. Soon after his time at sea he met the love of his life, a beautiful woman Antoinette (nee:Boccassini) who captivated him from the moment he saw her in 1955. Antoinette was his world and she pre-deceased him on March 1, 2014. The next three years, although a blessing and gift to his family, started a whole new chapter for him which was challenging at times without his wife beside him. Sal was truly a beautiful soul. He was a man of standards, integrity and handsome looks. He had a heart filled with happiness and love. In true Aquarian style he was an interesting conversationalist and especially loved to reminisce about his early days in his native Procida. Sal especially enjoyed the company of friends and family he loved to play billiards, cards, attending soccer games, dining out and traveling. Especially conscious of his appearance, he loved to wear "Polo". As an artist and tradesman he belonged to Construction Union #147 until his retirement. Most important to Sal was family. He was the devoted father of Anna DeFlorio and husband Joseph, Daniel Parisi and wife Dora, and Maria Ceccarelli Agresti and husband Patrick. His proudest rewards in his life were his granddaughters, Ciara Ann Agresti-Klich and husband Kevin, and Jacqueline Antoinette Parisi. Dear bother-in-law of Anna DePinto and Angelina Costagliola who he enjoyed lunching and reminiscing with often. He looked forward to his daily phone call with his beloved brother Michele who he loved dearly and was loyal to in this life. Unfortunately Sal was recently saddened by the loss of his loving sister-in-law Giuseppina Ceccarelli on March 22, 2017 who he referred to as "Poopinella". He was adored by many nieces and nephews both in the US and Italy and will be missed dearly by his "grand dogs" Hunter Hope and Romeo Salvatore. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday 5:00 – 9:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Thursday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in Historic Madonna R.C. Church On The Hill at 11:00 AM. If so desired donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans. For condolences, directions, or information call (201) 944-0100 or www.frankpatti.com
