Obituary of Daniel DeLuise
DeLuise, Daniel, age 87, of Fort Lee, on October 25, 2017. Danny was born in the Bronx as one of five children to Joseph and Filomena DeLuise. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War, where he learned to cook for the troops. After several years of working in construction--and marrying the love of his life--he began his career as a luncheonette owner in 1965, where he established himself as a neighborhood icon. Danny’s stories and his sense of humor were as great as his famous eggplant parmigiana—which will be sorely missed at family reunions. He had a tremendous heart, profound sense of responsibility, and selfless generosity to the many people he loved so purely. Beloved husband of Janice DeLuise (née; Filippi) for 57 years. Loving father of Kristine Fornaby. Cherished grandfather of Rebecca and Sarah Fornaby. Dear brother of Theresa Guarino and Joseph DeLuise. He is predeceased by brothers Louis and Patsy DeLuise. He is the adored uncle of many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are asked to gather Saturday November 11th, for the celebration of his memorial mass in the Main Madonna R.C. Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For condolences, directions, or information call (201) 944-0100 or www.frankpatti.com
