Obituary of Patricia A. Galfo

Patricia was born in New York City to Thomas and June Taylor on January 19, 1932. She was one of four children her older brothers Thomas and Donald who precede her in death and one surviving sister Margaret Taylor of Edgewater, New Jersey.

She began her life on 59 La Salle Street, New York City and later moved to Edgewater, New Jersey in 1947. She married the late Victor Galfo of Fairview, New Jersey. She is survived by: Coleen Galfo of Altamonte Springs, FL, son Kenneth and Debbie Galfo of Tyler, TX, Debby and Ray Lemmon of Amarillo, TX, Kathryn and Joe Heatter of Ogdensburg, New Jersey, and Brian and Tina Galfo of Ridgefield, New Jersey. Patricia was blessed with 14 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great- Great Children and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.

Patricia was first and foremost a mother, who was a force to reckon with when it involved her family. She was loving, strong willed, honest, and was never one to mince words, so you always knew where you stood with her. Besides her children one of her proudest moments was when there was five generations living because to her that was remarkable. It was always the small things in life that made her happy especially when it came to her family.

Patricia was well respected in her community of Edgewater. She worked on the Board of Elections, was a School Bus Aide, A Cross Walk Guard, and a Code Enforcer. She loved her community and friends, was a mentor to some and surrogate mother to many. She had a very strong faith and allowed the Lords guidance in everything she did, and this filtered into her daily life and those around her.

We come today to celebrate her life and legacy. The world has lost a wonderful person and heaven gained an angel. She will be sorely missed.

In closing let us give a gift of profound gratitude to an amazing man. In her final years she lived with her daughter Kathy and son-in law Joe who she always considered a son. In God’s infinite wisdom he placed her in Joe’s hands for her remaining years. As in life, death mimics that in which we start and depart this world. In her final moments Joe held her hand and gave her the peace to pass from this life to her place in heaven.

Thank you so much Joe, know words can never express to you how grateful and blessed we all are to have you and the care that you gave to our beloved mom and Grambo Pat.

 The family will receive their friends on Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Friday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Edgewater at 11:00 AM.
