Obituary of Alma Galletta

Galletta, Alma (nee D'Amico) age 89, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Fort Lee, N.J., passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015. She was born in Manhattan on February 16, 1926 to the late Aida and Louis D'Amico. At the age of eight, Alma won 3rd place in the John Wannamaker Drawing Contest, a city-wide competition in New York. She worked for the Corn Exchange Bank (later Chemical bank) in New York City and in the accounting department at the Meldisco Co. in Mahwah, NJ for over 20 years until her retirement. A resident Fort Lee for 44 years and was an active member of the Rosary Society and Choir of the Madonna Church. Alma was the beloved wife, for 55 years, of the late Eugene Galletta. Cherished mother of Dr. Marylou Yam and her husband, David. Devoted grandmother of Michael Yam. Loving sister of the late Nancy Puglia. Dear sister-in-law of Lee Chick, MaryAnn Galletta and Kathy Galletta, brother-in-laws- Alfred Galletta and Howard Chick, first cousins Anthony Russo and John Russo and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
