Obituary of Edith Bava

Bava, Edith (nee Tempone), age 95 of Manalapan Township, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. Edith was born in New York City and resided in River Edge, Palisades Park, Bergenfield, and Manalapan Township for the better part 65 years. Edith was employed as a secretary by Prentice Hall, Inc., a division of the Simon & Schuster Company, in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, for more than 20 years. She retired in 1992. Edith was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael J. Bava in 1971, who continued to be the love of her life, and her loving son, Mark M. Bava in 2016, who she missed so very much. Edith is survived by her loving son, David, his wife Mary Lee, and their daughter Gabrielle of Manalapan, NJ, her daughter-in-law, Linda Bava of Cape May, NJ and Palm Beach, FL, and her children Heather Cardello and her husband Todd of Long Valley, NJ, Shaun Bava and his wife, Katherine of South Orange, NJ and Dr. Ashley Bava of Matawan, NJ. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, who constantly lit up her life, Christian and James Cardello, and Kira Bava. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 10 to 11:30 AM at the Frank A. Patti Funeral Home, www.frankpatti.com, 327 Main Street., Fort Lee, NJ 07024. A funeral mass will follow at 12 Noon at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 19 East Central Boulevard, Palisades Park, NJ. The interment will follow at Madonna Cemetery, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, Fort Lee, NJ.
