Obituary of Virginia Hofmann

Hofmann, Virginia "Ginnie" nee; Riteman, age 94, of Leonia, passed away on December 29, 2014. Ginnie was best known as the Illustrator of the Betsy McCall paper dolls that appeared in McCall's magazine from the 1950's through the 1970's. Mrs. Hofmann also wrote and illustrated the "Who Wants an Old Teddy Bear" series of children's books, and illustrated the first edition of the Joy of Cooking. Ginnie was a long-time member of the society of Illustrators. She was born in 1920 in Toledo, Ohio and was pre-deceased by her husband Rev. Edward Hofmann. Visiting at the Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, on Monday January 5th from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Religious Service at 12:30 PM.
