Obituary of Diane C. Dorner

Diane C. Dorner of New Milford formally of Teaneck and Cliffside Park passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on January 2, 2019, even though she would tell you she was 22. Loving mother of Joseph and his wife Dawn, Sherry Godlewski and her husband Eugene and Michelle Paprota and her husband John. Cherished grandmother to Jessica Dorner, Paige Godlewski, Amanda Dorner, Edward Paprota, Sydney Godlewski, Tommy Godlewski, Zachary Dorner, Julia Paprota and Katherine Paprota. Great grandmother to Logan Garcia. Predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1975. She worked for over 25 years at River Dell High School and finally retired in 2017. She was a very involved parishioner at South Presbyterian Church in Bergenfield where she had been a deacon for many years. She recently was honored for her talents of sewing by making over 300 dresses for Little Dresses for Africa and knitted hundreds of scarves and hats to be donated. She loved doing crafts and giving where ever help was needed. She had lots of energy and always had a smile and joke to share. She had a knack for treating strangers immediately as friends whether you were from church, students from school, colleagues or neighbors. And when it came to the ultimate moment to leave all of us who had loved and admired her, she maintained her dignity and grace while letting God take her body, when she could no longer fight the terminal battle of her life.
