Obituary of Celine M. Dilworth

Dilworth, Celine M., Age 92, Long time resident of Leonia and member of St John‘s R.C. Church. Passed away on January 1, 2020. Born in Jersey City to Edward D. and Kathryn Dilworth (née:Henry) of North Bergen. Devoted first generation cousin of the late Rita Corlett of Fort Lee, Joan Wenthen(née: Corlett) of Leonia and William Shnipper of Haworth. Cherished by second generation cousins Mary, Jackie, Kevin, Nora, Bridget, Tara, Bill & Brian. And admired by third generation PJ, Michael, Courtney, Lindsey, Christopher, Andrew, Kelsey, Brian, Molly, Joseph, Hailee, Marisah & Harrison. Following her father‘s death when Celine was 16 years of age, she began her ambitious work ethic to support both herself and her mother for decades to come. Celine relished her 48 year career, starting at FW Woolworth in North Bergen at age 17, followed by clerical and secretarial correspondence at Canada Dry Company in Manhattan. Continuing her full-time work as a single woman, Celine received an Associates degree in Business from Elizabeth Seton College in New York. She finish her career as chief administrator for executive travel at Union Pacific Railroad in NYC. Celine frequented Broadway theaters and loved to travel. In later years, she devoted time and prayer with her friends and church community. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3-7 pm at the Frank A Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library” The funeral will leave Monday 9:30 am for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. John’s R.C. Church (Leonia) at 10 am. Interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery.
