Obituary of Carmine Peter Galasso
Galasso, Carmine Peter age 93, of Leonia, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015. He was born February 5, 1922 in New York City to the late Carmela and Giovanni Galasso. He was predeceased by his wife, Nina (Toransky) (2012), his brother, Sabato Galasso; sister, Florence Schroeder; and granddaughter, Jessica Berkery. He is survived by his children, Valentina Arnold and husband Daniel (Alpine, NJ), Marina Lister and husband John (Old Bridge, NJ), Cristina Ryan (Leonia, NJ), John Galasso and wife Joanne (Bridgewater, NJ); his grandchildren, Erica, Larissa, Michael, Sean, Nicolas, Nina, Alexander, and Monica; and his great-grandson, Dylan, all of whom he adored. "Pete" was a WWII US army veteran, serving in the 80th Division of Patton's 3rd Army during the Battle of the Bulge. Before retiring, he was owner and proprietor of Alray Liquors in Moonachie, NJ, as well as several real estate ventures. He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist R.C Church in Leonia. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library".
