Lionel Lavelanet

Obituary of Lionel Lavelanet

On Sunday January 24th, 2021 the sun shined a little dimmer, and the night was a little darker for God called home one of his most faithful, Lionel Lavelanet, formerly of Maywood, NJ. Son of Louis Joseph Lionel (deceased) and Madeleine Lelia Clarrissa Hibbert (deceased). He is survived by his wife and “poteau central” Linda Lavelanet, his children Olivier, Lawrence, Michel, Caroline, Danielle and Natacha, his 9 grandchildren, and his 8 siblings. Lionel was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti and eventually settled in Weehawken New Jersey in 1985 with his wife and children, moving to Maywood in 1994 were he passed away peacefully of natural causes in the comfort of his home. His death is a loss shared by so many far and near. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandpa, Mentor to many, and champion of his beloved country Haiti. Though he was a complicated man, his love was never complicated and never conditional. A lesson he taught to us all and will hold onto. He will be missed by all that knew him. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we are asking that you make a donation in his memory to St. Jude’s   https://www.stjude.org/give.html  or Save the Children donations@starlight.org. May you rest in peace and continue to watch and protect us.
