Obituary of Maria Cappadona

Maria Antonia Cappadona (nee Aragona), age 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, on Thursday, February 11th, 2021.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Isabella Timarchi, and her husband Michael, her grandchildren, Raffaele, Joseph, David, and Melissa, and her great-grandchildren Isabella, Luciano, Mikeli, and Valentina. She is predeceased by her husband, Guiseppe, and her son, Salvatore.

Maria was born in Italy in the small town of Sorrentini, Sicily where she met and married the love of her life, Giuseppe Cappadona. Together they started a family and immigrated to the United States. Maria was the owner of Sparrow Hill Market in Jersey City with her beloved husband Giuseppe.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved cooking and was an avid traveler to Atlantic City. She moved through life with profound strength and sacrifice. She was assertive and strong-willed, with a particular emphasis on family. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and anyone who knew her.

The family will receive their friends on Monday 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library".  The funeral will leave Tuesday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in the Main Madonna R.C.
