When he came to WABC, he mentioned his wife worked around the corner (what a small world) I enjoyed our chats, quick hellos, always friendly, soft spoken, interesting conversations about Long Island etc.., always willing to give a hand. Joan My sympathy & prayers go out to you, the rest of your family, friends and to everyone who was blessed to be in Erik's presence.

My condolences to Joan and your family. I met Erik at Adelphi University, we worked on a student film together. Years later we both were working at ABC Television where we were reacquainted and became friends. A quick run down to Sam Ash to look at Synthesizers, hanging on the beach with friends, having him drag me to see the film "Clerks" were some of the things I remember. Rest in peace my friend.

I will forever miss my time with Erik the last two years at WABC. We got to spend so much time together during the pandemic, being some of the few people in the building. Every week, I would look forward to catching up as we sorted through the next challenge of our lives. I loved hearing about the new music and performances he and Joan would enjoy as well as the latest exploits from his film projects each weekend.

Joan, I can’t begin to express how much you and Erik both meant to me during my time in Weehawken. All the times we shared. There was so much love there that I carry with me always. And Erik.. my pal. My riding buddy! All the adventure we had on two wheels, Saturday or Sunday afternoons. His goofy smile and constant sense of humor were so grounding and affirming. I could always count on him to put the world in a healthier perspective with his ever-present calming energy. I miss him. And I miss you.
Sending all the love in the world to you, your family, and all those fellow friends who are, too, crushed by the weight of his loss.

Hey Erik .Remember when we went to the top of World Trade Center on that beautiful fall afternoon. When you visited us in Hawaii and spoke to Nate on the flower phone and we hiked Lanikai ridge to view the “Mokes”. Went to see Hapa at the Kahala Hilton with Terri and Joan. How about the incredible view of the city lights from Weehawken or taking Terri and Cass to see the parrot flock in Jersey. You once told me of this thing called Facebook that I might find interesting. Theater, art, politics, music all your posts on FB. Thanks for the joy and richness you added to our lives. I share with you Joan the grief and my deepest sorrow. I am in tears since our talk this morning when you told me about this tragic news. Erik was fortunate to have you as the perfect companion for all the amazing things you two did together. He loved you so much. You still are and always be a perfect match. I met Erik 37 years ago (1984) at Adelphi library where we worked together. I was a lonely foreign student, first time in America with no friends or family, and unlike everyone else who didn't show any curiosity about my heavy accent, Erik immediately went out of his way to make me feel at home. He took me to see amazing places in Long Island, to Jazz performances and he showed his abilities to keep control while skidding his car over ice. Erik introduced me to his parents and shared with me all the things we both loved. Be it films (like Blade Runner), music (Vangelis, Cocteu Twins, Kristy Maccoll to name a few) and art (Patrick Nagel posters). He helped me with Adelphi video class assignments and later put together a recording of my resume to help me find a job in a unique way. Without Erik, my adjustment to life in America would have been so much more challenging... I always shared and appreciated his love for art, architecture, music, films, and travel. His tolerance and open-mindedness to accept every person the way he is with no prejudice - admirable. But our amazing connection never stopped even after my return to my home country. For more than 20 years, with me being on the other side of the world we stayed in touch constantly sharing our common interests. I was always happy to be exposed to his achievements in film, editing, and to hear the music albums he created. Being such a great great friend, a source of joy and inspiration I cannot begin to think of not having him next to me chatting and sharing. Erik, you did so much good in your life for everyone or anything you have touched. If there is heaven you of all people will be there. I love you so much and already miss you immensely.

Erik and I were good friends in the latter elementary and middle school grades at Trinity Lutheran in Hicksville. We ended up at different high schools and much to my eternal regret, lost touch over the years. I think he was the instigator that got me into reading MAD magazine and other such subversive literature! I found him again last year out of the blue on Facebook and reached out. We traded mesages and some texts and I eventually called him and it was like time had stood still for 45 years! I'm so glad we had a chance to talk one last time. He was a good guy and a great friend and I will miss and mourn him.
Condolences to his all family and many friends.
