Steve and I met at the age of 18 at a week-long summer stay at UNCG to introduce us to campus and university life. We became friends and roomed together our sophomore year in the international dorm. Seems like a lifetime ago. Steve was my zany friend and is firmly rooted in my campus experience. He impressed me with his desire and intent to engage with international people. A few years later I would visit him in Leipzig, Germany as part of a trip around Europe. Many years later my wife and I would have a great time hanging out with Steve and Matthew in NYC. My condolences to Matthew and the Lambeth family. I know Steve lives on in the memories of so many people and in the afterlife. I will miss the uniqueness that was his that he always shared.

Matthew, I send my love, hugs and prayers to you and the Lambeth family. I was so lucky to get to know you guys when I lived in NYC and loved all Stephen's posts of his ties and socks after I moved to Florida. Rolando was waiting for him and now they're having a cocktail in Heaven.

I met Stephen in Leipzig, Germany, early in 1992. He came over to ask my sister and I if we were Irish because I was wearing a big Aran sweater and my sister ‘looked Irish’. We became firm friends from that moment on.
You could not fail to be charmed by his energy and superb sense of humour .
I feel so truly privileged to have had Stephen in my life all these years, to have been able to meet up in New York and to see him so utterly and gloriously happy with the love of his life Matthew.
I have so many happy memories of great conversations and belly laughs with him. Of big hugs and that cheeky smile.
Stephen will always be in my heart, a true friend.
To Matthew and to all Stephen’s family I send my sincerest condolences. He was one in a million.

Steve and I taught English together at the Berlitz School in Leipzig. His students loved him. We all loved him. Always thought I'd make it to NY for one of his bear hugs. So many happy memories of fun shopping trips together. He was my number 1 fashion advisor. Not one of those guys you see in the stores with long faces. No, he would run around looking for outfits he thought I'd like. So funny, so caring. I'll treasure his memory forever. My sincere condolences to Matt, his family and all of those whose lives he touched.

I remember fondly the day I met Stephen. I was with my manager at the time, calling applicants for an open IT consultant spot at Jaguar Land Rover. With a stack of resumes in front of us, we proceeded to call 6 or 7 people until we had a good group to choose from. We were about to wrap up, however this one other resume stood out and I said, let’s just call this last person before we call it a day.
Well, that person turned out to be Stephen! Not only did he have the skills we needed, but he was bright, articulate, witty, charming, and easy to talk to. He won us over and so started our journey with Stephen in our lives. I will be forever grateful for that day because I have enjoyed every bit of his bad jokes, puns, “wooden ties”, and holiday wear since. I just wish I could have had some more.
My sincerest condolences to Matthew and Stephen’s family and friends and to all who loved him. Rest in Peace Slammy.

I'm a former co-worker of Stephen's (EduNeering). I remember how smart and hilarious he was. There was a great deal of stress for most at that company but Stephen made it tolerable. Sending prayers his family and friends. May he R.I.P.

Stephen was a amazing colleague and inspiration to work with. He brought his true self to work and inspired others to do the same. I have some touching memories of working with Stephen on the formation of our diversity committee at work that will live and grow with the knowledge he made such a difference to those around him. A highlight was sharing the NYC Pride event with Stephen and Matthew in June 2019. He will be missed by so many people. My thoughts are with Matthew and Stephen's family. A big hug to you all.

My beautiful Stephen. My beloved husband. My angel. You have changed the world. Into this world, you added incredible joy, laughter, warmth, and radiant, enveloping love everywhere you went, and generously shared all of it with everyone you ever met.
You dared me to love bigger. You dared me to be stronger. You dared me to embrace life harder. You dared me to try. And you were there to catch me when I stumbled. I will be forever grateful for your love, your hugs, your kisses, sharing your magical life with me, and everything you did to make me a better man. You are my heart. You are my soul. I will cherish and honor your memory for all the days of my life. When it is my time to join you, my love, and you lead me off to the home you've made for us in heaven, I will shower you with a hundred kisses for every day I lived without you. I will love you forever. Your beloved husband, your Matchoo.

Stephen was kind, sincere, compassionate, funny and had an amazing spirit. I will truly miss your smile, Stephen. Especially the IMs at work that were mostly spoken with emojis. I worked with Stephen for the last 3 years. We were in touch only a couple of weeks ago and this news was just so shocking and sad. He was a genuine nice guy and worked hard. He brought a lot of fun to the team, you would always be waiting for the next holiday to see what he would wear! He will be missed, we weren't ready for him to leave. RIP Stephen.

I have worked with Stephen on and off since he joined JLRNA. I always thought he had such a great personality and was always very fun to work with, great sense of humor but also a very big heart.
I am so very saddened to hear of his passing but feel very fortunate to have met him, worked with him and also to have been able to call him my friend. On certain holidays he would make a point to visit many of us at our desks as we struggled with the challenges of the day and he would stop by and drop off a little memento of the day, and just generally bring cheer and laughs to his work colleagues and friends. I will miss him very much! Here was the last time I talked with him, via Chat, but was a much-needed exchange, and now very poignant for me. I know Stephen will continue to shine his positive light on all who knew and loved him from heaven. Godspeed Stephen!
Sincerely, Brenda Fevrier

I've been one of Stephen's co-workers during his 8 years with Jaguar Land Rover.
He was a great person to work with, just a bright light in any room he walked into.
Can't remember seeing him without a smile on his face or unwilling to give you his attention.
Sincere condolences to Matthew and Stephen's entire family.

Stephen and I connected through Facebook, "friend of a friend." He realized that we were actually cousin relations. He also helped us navigate the service jungle for our Range Rover....and finally, we sealed our friendship over our equal passion for equality and politics.
God puts people in ones life...and we never know the impact these people make. Stephen made a wonderful impact on my life...even though we never met in person.
My heart goes to his husband and family. Know you are all in my prayers.
Much love.
