Obituary of Karine Petrosyan

Petrosyan, Karine age 65, of Fort Lee, passed away peacefully on Monday June 14, 2021. Born in Megri, Armenia on May 2, 1956 to the Late Gabriel and Anush (nee: Azatyan) Khachatryan. Beloved wife to Norik.  Devoted mother to Nansen (Vanuhi) and Narineh (Vahagn), Adored Grandmother to Norayr, Emma, Adam, and Alexander.  Cherished sister to Marine, Marat, and the Late Marqar. She was a math teacher, lover of arts, a great cook, and curious about the world.

Karine was a beautiful, genuine, and loving soul. She had the deepest appreciation for her Armenian roots and worked very hard to instill the Armenian culture in her children and grandchildren. Having moved to the States about 7 years ago, Karine also embraced the American culture - from learning a new language to celebrating the various traditions here.

Serving others brought Karine so much joy - from friends and family to students and anyone she met. She was genuine in always expressing her deep love and care for people and a perfectionist at anything she did. Despite her failing health for the past year, very few people knew the extent to which she was struggling. She never wanted to burden anyone.

Karine’s joy for life, belief in God, and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain, without ever losing hope. She inspired all those around her to be better and never give up.

The family will receive their friends on Wednesday 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”.  All are asked to assemble Thursday in St. Thomas Armenian Church at 10:30 AM
