Obituary of Giovanna Cucco

Cucco, Giovanna, “Jennie”, “J” (nee: Casamento) age 110, of Manahawkin, formerly of Brick, Lakewood and a long-time resident of Palisades Park, passed peacefully on Friday June 18, 2021. Born in her home in Guttenberg to the late Dominic Casamento and Francesca DeAngelo, Jennie was a seamstress by trade.  She experienced over a century of change and took an active part in those changes.  At 17 she obtained a drivers license and a car not common for women of the era.  She also earned a degree from Egan Business School, truly ahead of her time.   She retired from several careers, the latest she embarked on at age 80 and finally permanently retired at age 90.  She was truly active her entire life, enjoying travel and an active social life.  The only true way to describe “J” is to say “she was truly remarkable.”

Beloved wife of the late George Cucco.  Devoted mother of Phyllis Pantano and her husband Phillip, and Frances Craig and her husband James.  Cherished grandmother Scott Pantano (Loretta), George Craig (Angela), Ross Pantano (Beth), and Michael Craig (Livia Tedesco).  Adored great grandmother of Stephanie, Nicole, Gianna and Thomas Pantano, and Joshua, Kayla, and Marcello Craig.  Great-Great grandmother of Adalie and Bruno Craig.

The family will receive their friends on Wednesday 2:00 - 7:00 PM  at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”.  The funeral will leave Thursday at  9:30 AM  for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. Michael  R.C. Church (Palisades Park) at 10:00 AM.   For condolences, directions, or information (201) 944-0100. www.frankpatti.com
