Obituary of Segundo Joaquin "Papi" Porras
Segundo Joaquin Porras (age 92) of Leonia passed away on Wednesday December 1, 2021. He was born on October 11, 1929 in Latacunga, Ecuador and was known as “Papi” to so many. He emigrated in 1961 from his homeland; valiantly leaving his loved ones and embarking on a journey to provide a better life for his family, and in doing so he was able to help many others in migrating to the United States. Thus, many of his friends and relatives refer to him as “El Pionero”, The Pioneer. The focus of Segundo’s life was his family and friends - especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as someone who was friendly, generous with his time, always dancing and whose smile lit up any room.
Beloved husband of Maria Teresita. Devoted father of Patricio, Leon, Cornelio, Fernando, Anita, and Rodrigo. Cherished grandfather of Christine, Jonathan, Kevin, Christopher, Steven, Ryan, Samantha, Lauren, Valerie, Fernando, and Zachary. Cherished Great Grandfather of David, Daniel, and Elena. Loving brother of Humberto, Eloisa and the late Belisario, Maria, Lucita, and Zoila.
The family will receive their family and friends this Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Frank A.
